What if my exhibition Judders?
The two main causes of juddering movement are:
1/ File sizes, We do compress files as they come in if they are 2mb. or over, but you can resize and compress them yourselves to make the navigation of the gallery smooth and keep the look of your artwork sharp, using Photoshop or Picasa.
Using these tools you can decrease the file size to around 200-500kb which is optimum size.Remember if the pixel size is 2000 across and you reduce it to 1000 across, it will be a quarter of the total size and so will it's file size.
Most screen resolutions are around 1280 to 1650 across. The only time your artwork will be seen this big is in full screen mode.
Things to look out for are the judders when looking at certain pictures. If you can identify which ones, then you can fix this by re-sizing them and uploading and replacing them.
2/ The other cause is a low end graphics board ie. one with 128mb of non dedicated memory. A lot of older laptops have a feature which is called shared memory. UG! This means it is shared between the graphics board and the CPU, not ideal.
In most cases it is a memory issue or lack of it. So optimise your artwork. If you need more advice look at the FAQ "What are the optimum sizes for my artwork images".
